Remember, you can still see your Dentist even if they are now considered out-of-network with likely little change in cost. What this means if you use an out-of-network dentist, 100% of reasonable and customary costs are covered as long as your dentist’s fees are no higher than the 90th percentile in your area (deductible and co-insurance still apply for basic and major services). If your dentist’s fees are higher than the 90th percentile, you will be responsible for the difference.

Rula Mental Health

We have teamed up with Rula to provide in-network mental health support. Rula’s booking platform lets you schedule appointments within 3 minutes and meet with a provider via live video as soon as the next day. Visits apply to deductible and co-insurance if you are enrolled on the medical plans. If you are not on the KH medical plans, you can still use Rula to find in-network providers by entering in your insurance information.

Unum Supplemental Medical Plans

We are excited to introduce three new voluntary supplemental medical plans for 2025! Voluntary supplemental medical plans work alongside your health insurance to provide cash benefits in the event of an accidental injury, hospitalization, or serious illness.

In addition to covering these incidents, the plans also offer the Be Well benefit which is $50 for each member who completes a wellness screening. benefits when you or a covered dependent complete an annual wellness screening.

Accident Insurance

Accident insurance pays you directly to help cover out-of-pocket expenses if you experience an accidental injury that requires medical attention.

You can use these funds for co-insurance, deductibles, personal bills—anything not covered by your medical plan. Your family may be a good candidate for this insurance if your child plays organized sports or you enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.

Critical Illness Insurance

Critical Illness Insurance pays a benefit directly to you upon diagnosis of a covered health event. Examples of covered health events include cancer, heart attack, stroke, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, ALS, MS and more. Like the accident insurance, you can use this payment for co-insurance, deductibles, personal bills, or any other uncovered expenses.

If you have a family history of one of the covered health events, you may be a good candidate for this coverage.

Rates

Similar to supplemental life insurance, critical illness insurance premiums are dependent on the level of coverage and the age of the employee. Kimley-Horn offers three tiers of coverage – $10,000, $20,000, or $30,000.

Estimate your premium using our premium calculator linked below.

Hospital Insurance

Hospital Insurance offers a fixed amount for hospital admissions and daily confinement. This includes time spent in the hospital for birth of a baby.

These funds can also be applied to co-insurance, deductibles, personal bills, or any costs not covered by your medical plan. This coverage may be helpful if you are planning to have a baby this year or are planning to have surgery.
